  1. The RANMA 1/2 Video Screen Saver

  3. Last minute additions..........
  4.  
  5. This edition of The Video Screen Saver comes with Quicktime 2.0. 
  6. Within the installation program, you have the option to not install
  7. Quicktime 2.0 if you have a pre-existing installation of it.  
  8.  
  9. Please remember that the Video Screen Saver and Video Jukebox requires
  10. Quicktime.

  13. New Features of the Video Screen Saver
  14.  
  15. Preview Button - It is now possible to preview the video clips by
  16.          clicking on the corresponding preview button for
  17.          clip.
  18.  
  19. No repeat Video - This gives the ability to control the randomization
  20.           of the playing of the video clips.  The screen saver
  21.           will not repeat a video clip until all of the clips 
  22.           within a module has been played.
  23.  
  24. Mouse startup - This allows the startup of the screensaver by moving
  25.         the mouse into the designated corner.

  28. Troubleshooting...
  29.  
  30. If you want to play modules from CD.....
  31. This edition of the Video Screen Saver can play the modules directly
  32. off the CD.  Because of the lag time for the operating system to
  33. recognize the CD, if you are about to play the modules from the CD
  34. but have not put the CD in yet, after inserting the Screen Saver CD,
  35.  
  36. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE CD LIGHT TO GO OUT 
  37.  
  38. before clicking on "play modules from CD".
  39.

  41. Owners of the ATI Mach64 video cards...
  42. It has come to our attention that the ATI doesn't work with quicktime
  43. unless a line is added in the system.ini file under the [Macx] section.
  44. just open up system.ini with a text editor, find the [Macx] section
  45. and add:

  47. DeviceBitmap=Off
  48.  
  49. Restart Windows 
  50.  
  51. and this will solve the problem.

  54. Owners of the Soundblaster family of soundcards...
  55. If you get sound when playing the video jukebox then don't worry about
  56. this message... If you don't get sound then all you have to do is get
  57. the latest driver from Creative Labs or via an On-line service like 
  58. Compuserve

  60. Owners of the Soundblaster Pro or Soundblaster Pro 2...
  61. If the sound is cutting out while the screensaver is on, this is a known
  62. conflict of the SB Pro and Quicktime.  Presently the only workarounds are
  63. to let the screensaver continue to play until the sound returns by itself or 
  64. play another Quicktime Movie with the Video Jukebox or Movie Player until 
  65. the sound returns.  This is known as the SOUND STICKING and has been 
  66. documented by Apple Computers.

  68. Owners of the Soundblaster Pro or Soundblaster Pro 2...
  69. IMPORTANT: IF SOUND CUTS OUT AND YOU TRY TO EXIT WINDOWS, THE SYSTEM WILL 
  70.        FREEZE.  THIS IS BECAUSE WINDOWS IS TRYING TO PLAY THE WINDOWS
  71.        EXIT SOUND AND FREEZES.  THE TWO WORKAROUNDS ARE
  72.        
  73.        1)  TURN OFF THE WINDOWS EXIT SOUND IN THE SOUND APPLET IN YOUR
  74.            CONTROL PANEL
  75.        2)  USE THE WORKAROUND EXPLAINED IN THE PREVIOUS PARAGRAPH OF 
  76.            PLAYING MOVIES UNTIL THE SOUND RETURNS

  81. Owners of the BubbleGum Crisis or Project Ako ScreenSavers....
  82. If you are one of the lucky ones to own these Screensavers as well, 
  83. make sure that you install the Bubblegum Crisis screensaver first 
  84. followed by the Project Ako screensaver and finally the Ranma screensaver.
